Some of His Story

Where It Began

For Otis, at an early age, weekends meant going to the construction jobsite during the school year, even after participating in athletic events on Friday nights. The ending of each school year was the beginning of long hot summer days at the jobsite, usually six and sometimes seven days; eight to 12 hours per day. Although he may not have fully understood at the time, these were the years of developing his work ethics. It was during these times when he began to learn about some principals that would guide him on his journey both personally and professionally.

The Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
“If you’re going to do something, do it right or don’t do it at all.”
“Take pride in your work.”
Be willing to work for whatever it is that you want, don’t expect a handout, nobody OWES you anything.

Opportunity Began With A Need

As he continued to work in and learn about residential construction, he started exploring the opportunity of taking architectural drafting classes as a night student. This came about because of issues that we would occasionally have to deal with in the field because of mistakes with the blueprints. Therefore, due to his years of construction and print reading experience, he enrolled in a two year cad architectural drafting program; this was the beginning of his new adventure.
